Belmonte is an iconic Italian variety with an uncertain history. Some say it was brought to Italy by a Belgian emigrant returning to Europe from the United States in the early 900s. This variety is widely grown in Calabria Southern Italy.
Belmonte ripens from the inside out and has an intense pink colour. Dense with very few seeds Belmonte is great as both a salad tomato or cooking tomato. Tasty tomato with low acidity.
